Disposal of pollutants

8.3 Disposal of pollutants

From the 30th October 2007 in the UK landfill site cannot accept untreated waste as a result of the EU Landfill Directive. Liquids, clinical and hazardous materials cannot be sent to landfill site.

Minimisation techniques should be applied wherever possible, however, where waste is generated segregation into appropriate streams and recognised contractors should be employed to safely dispose of the waste.
