Collecting and Recycling Grey Water

2.2 Collecting and Recycling Grey Water

Grey water is collected from rain, storm and domestic waste. It con be used for non-potable domestic purposes such as toilet flushing and irrigation, fire-fighting, fire protection, and indirect process uses such as cooling.

Segregation and back-flow prevention from these systems is essential to prevent cross-contamination with potable supplies. Treatment of grey water systems may be required that could involve sand or pressure filtration, bio-treatment and/or aeration.
